Hello there, friends!! You’ve just logged on to this really fun website and before you go any further, there are a few things you should know about us!! This is Chmurny Cain and Leslie Day. We are the mothers of the MotherLoaded tavern. After many years of working together at the Breckenridge Brewery in Breckenridge, Colorado, we decided it was time to try something on our own. During discussions about our lives and the state of the world, we reminisced about how simple and safe everything felt when we were children… and the idea of the MotherLoaded tavern was born. We have tried to create something in tribute to our mothers, grandmothers, and families in gratitude for all they did and for all they sacrificed so that we could have the fond memories that we do. We have loaded the place with things that connect us to our families and our past—Mom’s home cookin’, comfort food, traditional regional recipes, Elvis, big 24oz cans of PBR, pink flamingoes, Mad Dog 20/20, mullets… why wouldn’t you throw in the Mother Country, while you’re at it!! Take a look at the photos that Brandon has so thoughtfully collected, and you’ll get the idea! We thank all of our friends and family who have contributed their recipes and support and hope you will share some of your family’s stories and traditions with us. Please let this become your home away from home. We take great pride in our food and, therefore, use fresh, wholesome ingredients. Unlike our moms (God bless Paula Dean and her love of butter!!), we have tried to make the old favorites a little bit healthier. We fry our Twinkies in vegetable oil with 0 trans fats!! Our beef is 100% black angus. Our veggies are garden fresh. We have numerous options for people searching for the healthier side of comfort cuisine.
